THE MICROWAVE OVEN
The microwave oven, more commonly called just the microwave, is a kitchen appliance that heats food with electromagnetic radiation. It was invented after World War II, and was first sold in 1946. Microwave ovens are most popular for reheating previously cooked foods. The microwaves have come a long way since then. They are found in almost every household. In fact, "more than 90 percent of America’s households include a microwave oven" ("30th Anniversary of Microwave Oven," 2010), which proves how much popularity they have gained.
